汉语字音中，除去声母、声调后所剩的部分，可分成韵头（介音）、韵腹和韵尾三部分。如欢（ｈｕａｎ），ｕ为介音，ａ为韵腹，ｎ为韵尾，凡韵母必有韵腹，至于介音、韵尾则可有可无。如攀（ｐａｎ），无介音，脱（ｔｕｏ）则无韵尾。或单称为「韵」。
